Instructor: Galya Greenberg, Project Director–MaToK Bible Curriculum This course, geared to teachers of Tanakh, will explore different approaches to teaching text. We will become familiar with the concept of “orientations” and reflect on our own experiences with orientations as both students and teachers. We will consider what orientations might be appropriate to the mission and philosophy of our school read and discuss case studies, and conclude with creating lesson plans for our won classes using the tools of backward design. As the course unfolds we will begin to identify 21C learning principles that most usefully enhance our teaching of Tanakh.
