The Martin J. Gottlieb Day School (MJGDS) is a Solomon Schechter School affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Since our founding in 1961, we have provided unparalleled educational opportunities for our children that instill values and broad based knowledge, while fostering leadership development. Our Kindergarten through Eighth Grade classes offer a challenging dual tracked Secular and Jewish Studies curricula with a focus on the “whole” child. MJGDS has outstanding results placing graduates into the high schools of their choice, particularly academic magnet high schools, such as IB and AICE programs.
The Day School recognizes the need for developing 21st Century Skills, teaching global awareness and digital citizenship. Through Classroom Blogs, Skype calls around the world, Digital Portfolios, Wikis, Podcasts, etc. our students are learning to be life-long learners, sharers, collaborators and are motivated to put their best work forward understanding that they have an authentic audience (the world).
MJGDS constantly strives to create an environment of mutual respect and support among staff, parents and students. In addition, being a relatively small school, we are able to discover and nurture the strengths and talents of each one of our students. The close-knit, Jewish student community instills our young people with a sense of identity, a feeling of belonging, and above all a powerful sense of self-worth.
The Day School is open to students of any race, color or ethnic origin who are being raised with a Jewish identity. Our school is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and is affiliated with the National Association of Independent Schools, the National Middle School Association, the National Junior Honor Society and the Schechter Day School Network. Our affiliation with the Schechter Day School Network provides our faculty and staff with exceptional resources and advanced educational programming which foster leading edge curriculum development. The timeless traditions and values of Judaism, coupled with experiential hands on learning make our school like none other.
