Preparing (or “Pre-Playing”) for STEM Day

When I visited Charles E. Smith in November, I happened to be there for a faculty meeting devoted to planning for the upcoming STEM Day. Having the Courage to Make Mistakes

While spending time in Mrs. Siegel’s 4th grade class this morning, I was fortunate to witness a discussion about our Middah of the Month, courage. Students were asked to find and share quotes about courage. This discussion of courage began with a student sharing a quote by Walt Disney: “All our dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” He went on to explain that if we don’t have courage to try new things we will never learn how to achieve our dreams. Taking the Time to be Thankful

November is the month to think about all the things that we should be thankful for. We should probably take the time to do it more often than once a year, but November is usually the best time to do it since Thanksgiving is a special holiday for everyone in America.
